DJ Paul Of Three 6 Mafia Speaks Out After Lil Jon’s Comments On Origins Of Crunk Music, Says Memphis Started Genre, ‘Bu Atlanta Helped Push It To Where It Is’
Will the creator of #crunkmusic please stand up!
DJ Paul of #Three6Mafia seemingly took issue with #LilJon’s recent interview with The Breakfast Club, where the Atlanta rapper broke down where and how he thinks crunk music started. While DJ Paul called the ongoing debate “bullsh*t,” he admitted to being a huge fan of #OutKast and had no issue giving the group praise.
In his caption, he said that Memphis artists started the popular music genre, but “Atlanta helped push it to where it is! We thank u!!!” He continued, “Now let’s talk about the sound that y’all did create that can’t be duplicated. And that’s the sounds of Rico Wade, OutKast, Goodie mob, Organized Noize and the whole dungeon family!!!”
“It’s not about the Word “Crunk” its about the style of music this topic refers to,” #DJPaul added in the comments.
What’s your take: Did Memphis lay the foundation, or were Atlanta rappers the driving force behind crunk? ??#TJBDebates
