Atlanta-Based HBCUs Receive $50 Million Donation From Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation
Great news!
The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation has pledged $50 million to Atlanta’s historically Black colleges and universities, including #ClarkAtlanta, #Morehouse, #MorrisBrown, and #Spelman. The funds will go toward “gap scholarships” for nearly 10,000 students who are in good academic standing but lack enough financial resources to finish their degrees.
Fay Twersky, the foundation’s president, described the grants as “a material investment in hope.” This marks the foundation’s largest contribution to Georgia #HBCUs.
Dr. F. DuBois Bowman, the president of Morehouse College, said about this generous gift, “This monumental investment will empower our students to remain focused on their academic studies and ensure that their talent, ambition, hard work, and integrity, not financial hardship, will determine their futures.”
