Turkey Leg Hut Co-Founder Lynn Price Hit With New Federal G*n Charges Amid Ongoing Arson Case
The legal troubles surrounding Lynn Price, co-founder of Houston’s once-famous Turkey Leg Hut, continue to grow.
According to court documents obtained by The Houston Chronicle, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a new superseding indictment on October 29, 2025, adding three additional federal weapons charges to Price’s existing case.
He’s now accused of:
• Possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime
• Two counts of felon in possession of a firearm
Federal prosecutors allege Price owned multiple firearms between 2019 and 2023, despite a 2016 felony tax fraud conviction that legally prohibits him from having any weapons. One of the firearms was reportedly modified to include a flamethrower attachment.
Agents further claim Price sold marijuana in the parking lot of the popular Houston restaurant, though he has not been formally charged with drug trafficking.
Price is already awaiting trial on conspiracy and arson charges connected to a 2020 firebombing at Bar 5015, a Houston bar owned by one of his former business partners. Prosecutors allege he orchestrated the attack by hiring multiple men to pour gasoline around the building before setting it on fire.
The new indictment also adds a fourth defendant, Javon Harris, who was arrested earlier this month and accused of helping carry out the arson.
Price has been held in federal custody since April 2025. U.S. District Judge Sim T. Lake has not postponed the trial, but the new charges could delay proceedings.
The case marks another dramatic turn for Price and his ex-wife and former business partner Nakia Holmes, who helped launch Turkey Leg Hut in 2015. The restaurant became a Houston institution for its stuffed turkey legs, celebrity customers, and long lines before closing in 2024 amid lawsuits, bankruptcy filings, and more than $6 million in unpaid claims.
