Muni Long Clarifies She’s ‘Forever A Lamb’ & Not Shading Mariah Carey w/ Look-Alike
#MuniLong says she has nothing but love for #MariahCarey. The singer recently caught heat over a promotional video for her new single “Delulu,” which features a Mariah Carey look-alike. The clip centers around the fake MC attempting to sing the record and ends with Muni quoting Mariah, saying, “I just don’t like when other people sing my songs.” If you recall, that’s what Mariah told #GQ when asked about her reaction to Muni performing her music during a tribute performance at the #iHeartRadio Music Awards.
After receiving backlash, Muni shared a follow-up video where she’s thrilled that (the fake) Mariah actually showed up to her rehearsal. The footage ends with MC pushing Muni and is captioned, “AND YOU KNOW WHAT!? She could push me off of every ledge in sight. THANK YOU!!! I LOVE HA!!!” Muni also clarified her stance via her IG Story, writing, “Y’all don’t be delulu. I would never disrespect Queen Mariah!!!!! Forever a Lamb.”
Do you think it was shade, or just a clever way to promote the song?
