Dr. Jackie Walters is apologizing for the unexpected question she directed at nurse practitioner Brandi Milton.

#MarriedtoMedicine is back, and in the season 12 premiere, OG cast member #DrJackie found herself in a viral moment after directing an unexpected health question toward newcomer Brandi Milton. During their first interaction at an event, Jackie surprised Brandi, the cast, and viewers by abruptly asking, “Is your Thyroid enlarged?” The clip quickly made its rounds online, with many calling out the inappropriate timing of the question.

Brandi chose to handle the situation gracefully. On Instagram, she used the moment to share that she does, in fact, deal with thyroid issues and highlighted how many Americans are unaware they may have the same condition and how it can affect daily life. Jackie later entered the comments to publicly apologize, writing, “Let me start with apologizing for mentioning your thyroid publicly. I definitely had a menopausal moment and let my mouth speak before my brain could catch.”

She continued her message by adding, “I should’ve addressed this one on one if at all. Trust me this comment came from clinical concern, not Shade. As a physician who has helped diagnose thyroid cancer on multiple women just by noticing enlarged thyroid, I reacted quickly instead of thoughtfully.”
