Grammy-Nominated Opera Singer Jubilant Sykes, 71, Stabbed To De@th Inside Home, Son Taken Into Custody As Suspect

Grammy-nominated opera vocalist Jubilant Sykes, 71, was tragically k!lled inside his #SantaMonica home on Monday night (Dec. 8). According to a statement from the Santa Monica Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:20 PM and arrived to find Sykes suffering from “critical injuries consistent with a stabbing.” He was pronounced de@d at the scene.

Authorities say Sykes’ 31-year-old son, Micah, was located inside the residence and taken into custody as a suspect. Police noted he will be booked on a homicide charge, with the case expected to be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for review. The investigation is active.
