Brandy & Monica Say The Boy Is Mine’ Tour Is More Than Nostalgia: “The Most Heartwarming” Part Happened Offstage

Brandy and Monica are opening up about what it’s been like hitting the road together decades after “The Boy Is Mine” first made history — and both singers say the experience has been deeper than just nostalgia.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Monica described the tour as both personal and powerful, explaining that coming together now — “as adults, as mothers, as artists, and as entrepreneurs” — allowed them to share an experience they never had earlier in their careers. While fans may see the tour as a throwback moment, Monica said it’s the behind-the-scenes time that’s been the most meaningful, calling it “the most heartwarming.”

Brandy echoed those sentiments, describing the tour as “such a beautiful, unforgettable experience.” She said being back on the road and sharing the stage has reminded her why she fell in love with music in the first place, pointing to the energy of live audiences and the nightly connection with fans.

According to Brandy, celebrating these songs together night after night has felt “magical,” adding that the tour has been “truly a blessing.” She also expressed gratitude for everyone involved, saying she’s thankful for “every moment and everyone who’s been a part of it.”
