NBA Star Kyrie Irving To Miss Rest Of Season As He Continues Recovery From Knee Injury
Dallas Mavericks star #KyrieIrving will not play again this season as he continues to recover from knee surgery he underwent last March to repair a torn left ACL.
The team announced that the nine-time All-Star, who hasn’t appeared in a game this year, is making “steady progress in rehabilitation and will remain actively engaged with the team through the remainder of the season.” With that timeline, Irving is expected to be ready for the 2026–27 season rather than returning this year.
Irving’s agent, Shetellia Riley Irving, told #ESPN that the decision is focused on ensuring he can come back at full strength: “This is about Kyrie being 1,000% when he comes back and giving himself the best chance to chase a championship next season.” In his own statement, Irving said, “This decision wasn’t easy, but it’s the right one,” adding that he’s grateful for the support he’s received and is “looking forward to coming back stronger next season.”
