2004 “ANTM” Winner Eva Marcille Calls Netflix Exposé Doc ‘Amazingly Horrifying,’ Says She’ll Always Be Thankful To Tyra Banks But There Is No Sorry Big Enough’ For Wronged Contestants
#EvaMarcille is weighing in on Netflix’s docuseries centered around the multiple controversies of America’s Next Top Model.
Eva Marcille, the winner of #ANTM Cycle 3, says she was genuinely shocked by the revelations in Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model. Sharing her true thoughts with CBS Mornings, Eva admitted she had not been contacted to appear in the documentary and was stunned by what she saw, telling hosts, “I watched it and after I watched it, I was gobsmacked.” She added that the 3-part series was “amazingly horrifying…To be a part of a club, and not know what’s going on in the club is crazy.”
Eva, who was briefly mentioned in the docuseries, emphasized that she wasn’t prepared for the controversial material it revealed, including s3xual a$$ault and bullying allegations. She acknowledged that she will “never fail to thank Tyra Banks” for what she set out to do with the modeling competition.
At the same time, Eva expressed understanding for why some former contestants may not accept any apologies from #TyraBanks. “For the young girls who were s3xually a$$aulted… for the young girls who now have eating disorders or look at themselves and never feel beautiful — that little girl in them that will always live in the woman that is them — there is no sorry, I think, that’s big enough to truly feel and heal that kind of hurt.”
