Meek Mill Says Hip Hop Community ‘Has Fully Taken On Political Lynching’ As He Explains His Years-Long Hiatus From Interviews
We now know why #MeekMill hasn’t done interviews lately.
The rapper explained in a series of X posts that his years-long hiatus from sit-down chats or media appearances is tied to what he calls “political lynching” taking place in the hip hop community. Meek shared an old freestyle rap video from earlier in his career, captioning it, “This was my mindframe at 18 years old cased up with no money in a murder zone where my dad was killed… my mom and sister suffered from that sh*t for years … that’s why I start doing this rap sh*t!”
He added in another post, “They clipped me doing bunny hops and acted as if a billionaire made me do something against me moral codes from a lost bet …. that was a “clip” I bought them billionaires around the culture where millions was made in the rap industry many artist that’s the clip!” When a fan explained the viral “bunny hop” moment, which has since turned into a meme, Meek replied, “They do it for your future consumer like Gen Z…. they didn’t grow up one so they wouldn’t know the difference so you won’t keep gaining influence!”
#TJBCrew, how do you feel about Meek’s POV?
