Mathew Knowles Says He’s ‘Evaluating All Legal Remedies’ After Abruptly Ending Interview When Asked About Ex-Wife Tina Knowles’ Role In Destiny’s Child’s Success
Mathew Knowles has gone viral, and he’s far from happy about it. The father of superstars #Solange and #Beyoncé is making headlines after a clip surfaced in which he appeared to shade his ex-wife Tina Knowles over her role in Destiny’s Child’s success. “What work did she put in,” Mathew flatly asked the stunned interviewer, who responded by noting Tina’s contributions to the group’s hair and styling. He then abruptly ended the conversation. Speaking to Page Six, Mathew insisted there was no malice behind his question, emphasizing that he believes Tina “did way more than just their hair,” pointing to her work in shaping the group’s overall image.
The interview originally aired on New York City’s PIX11 on Jan. 30, though the scene of him walking out was cut and recently leaked. “I’m just so baffled by all of this,” Mathew said, adding that he’s considering legal action. “You can’t even find a negative comment I’ve ever said about Tina. So, I don’t get it… People try to bait us all the time to be against each other. There was a complete misrepresentation here – and I’m evaluating all legal remedies at this time.” He also stressed that he and Tina “have a wonderful relationship,” which is why he avoids calling her his ex-wife. “That’s a negative term… I’ve never referred to Tina as my ex. I’m always positive. She’s my former wife, and I give her the respect of that rather than saying ex.”
#TJBCrew, was this just one big misunderstanding? Or was Mathew being shady?
