Sheryl Underwood Blasts President Trump Over Voter ID Ultimatum
Sheryl Underwood isn’t holding back when it comes to her thoughts on Trump’s latest ultimatum.
Here’s the rundown: President #DonaldTrump is putting intense pressure on Congress to pass the controversial SAVE America Act, warning he may refuse to sign other legislation until it becomes law. The bill would require voters to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering for federal elections, despite voter impersonation and noncitizen voting already being illegal and extremely rare.
Critics of the measure argue it could disenfranchise millions of Americans who don’t have easy access to the necessary documents, such as a U.S. passport or a driver’s license paired with proof of citizenship like a birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or adoption paperwork. Speaking out on the matter during a guest co-host spot on The View, #SherylUnderwood didn’t hold back, saying, “If we can elect a 34-count convicted felon, then we can take felon off of every application and give the rights back to the true political prisoners of the United States government…if you serve your time then you should be able to vote.”
Underwood added that #Trump’s ultimatum seems to stem from nerves over how the midterms might unfold.
#TJBCrew, what are your thoughts on this entire situation?
