[Update] Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett Says What She’s Learning About Her Ex-Security Guard K*lled By Dallas SWAT ‘Doesn’t Fit The Person We Came To Know As Mike King
Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett is addressing the d*ath of a man who once worked as part of her security detail after he was fatally sh*t during a standoff with Dallas police.
Authorities identified the man as 39-year-old Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, who was reportedly operating under the alias “Mike King.” According to investigators, Robinson d*ed Wednesday night after a confrontation with SWAT officers in a hospital parking garage. Police say he barricaded himself inside a vehicle before tear gas was deployed and he allegedly pulled a g*n on officers. Robinson had also been under federal investigation for impersonating law enforcement.
In a statement, Crockett’s office said the security contractor had been hired through an approved vendor that had previously worked with local agencies and Capitol Police.
“The fact that an individual was able to somehow circumvent the vetting processes for something as sensitive as security for members of Congress highlights the loopholes and shortcomings in many of our systems,” the statement reads.
The office added, “We are praying for the friends and family of the man that we knew as Mike King… What we’re now learning about his past doesn’t fit the person we came to know as Mike King.”
