Kevin Gates Claims P*rn Will ‘Make You Feel Insecure’ + Says It Led To His S*men Retention Journey
Kevin Gates is opening up about a personal shift he says changed how he views intimacy, masculinity, and self-control. During an appearance on the “Friends Keep Secrets”
podcast with Lil Dicky, Benny Blanco, and Kristin Batalucco, the rapper revealed that his past consumption of p*rn led him to rethink his habits and ultimately embrace “semen retention.”
Reflecting on that time, Gates admitted, “Yeah… I used to watch a lot of p*rn, [and] it’ll make you feel insecure,” adding that it sparked deeper concerns about masculinity.
- He described semen retention as not “releasing,” explaining techniques like strengthening the pelvic floor, which he says redirects energy.
“Once I refrained from watching p*rn… that’s when I realized… that’s true intimacy,” he said, emphasizing emotional and spiritual connection with a partner.
Gates also claimed “m*sturbation leads to depression,” noting he stopped the practice years ago. Instead, he promotes channeling that energy elsewhere: “It’s s*xual transmutation; you could put that energy in other places.”
