Former Destiny’s Child Member Farrah Franklin Addresses Terrence Howard’s Claim That He Passed On Dating Beyoncé For Another Group Member
Looks like #TerrenceHoward had a thing for the ladies of Destiny’s Child.
#FarrahFranklin, who had a brief stint in Destiny’s Child in the early 2000s, is setting the record straight after Howard claimed he once passed on dating Beyoncé in favor of another woman from the group. During a recent podcast appearance, Howard said, “I had a chance to date Beyoncé early on,” adding that he instead pursued “the girl with the blue eyes,” though he didn’t name anyone specifically.
Franklin responded directly to the claim, clarifying to PEOPLE that she’s the girl Howard was speaking of, but things between them never turned romantic. “I’m Farrah with the natural green eyes (not Blue lol), and I can confirm that Terrence and I had a few friendly outings—nothing romantic,” she said. Franklin added, “We went to the studio a few times, and I will say that Terrence is super talented!” before shutting down further speculation, noting, “I won’t speculate on anything else that was said.”
During his interview, Howard also reflected on a moment from the 2005 BET Awards, where he believes #Beyoncé selected him during a performance of Cater 2 U to show him what he “had lost.” Meanwhile, Franklin said she’s focused on her own path, sharing that she’s currently working on new music and film projects and “looking forward to sharing it with the world.”
