Kanye West Raps “White Queen” Line About Bianca Censori – Says It “Couldn’t Happen Without Martin Luther”
Kanye West is raising eyebrows again — this time over lyrics referencing his interracial marriage and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on a new track.
On his song “King” from the album Bully, Kanye raps, “I brought a white queen to the altar/Couldn’t happen without Martin Luther,” directly tying his relationship to the late civil rights icon’s legacy.
The track arrives as Kanye’s personal life continues to draw attention. The rapper married Bianca Censori in December 2022 after previously being married to Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children.
Before finalizing his divorce, Kanye had a brief relationship with Julia Fox and was also linked to Irina Shayk. He has allegedly been in multiple interracial relationships over the years — a theme he previously referenced in his 2005 hit “Gold Digger.”
For historical context around interracial relationships, bans were ruled unconstitutional in 1967 under Loving v. Virginia, during the same era Martin Luther King Jr. was actively fighting segregation.
While King did not directly center his activism on interracial marriage, he wrote in a 1957 Ebony column that “There is nothing morally wrong with an interracial marriage,” while acknowledging that “many social obstacles stand in the way.”
