Cardi B Cleared In Court After Producers Claim ‘Enough (Miami)’ Copied Their 2021 Track
Cardi B has secured another courtroom win after a lawsuit accusing her of stealing music was dismissed in Texas.
According to legal documents, Cardi B and her record labels were sued by artists Joshua Fraustro (known professionally as Sten Joddi) and Miguel Aguilar (Kemikal956), who alleged that her March 2024 single “Enough (Miami)” borrowed elements from their 2021 track “Greasy Frybread.” The lawsuit, originally filed in July 2024, also named Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group as co-defendants.
However, the case was thrown out due to a lack of personal jurisdiction. Translation: the judge ruled Fraustro and Aguilar didn’t establish that the Texas court had the authority to handle the dispute.
The dismissal does not address the merits of the claims, meaning the producers could potentially refile the lawsuit in another state.
For now, Cardi B walks away with another legal win.
