Kid Cudi Kicks M.I.A. Off His Tour After She’s Booed By Crowd For Going On Rant About ‘Illegal’ People & Being A Republican

M.I.A. is out of a job.

#KidCudi announced that he has fired the Paper Planes artist as one of the openers on his “Rebel Ragers Tour” following a weekend performance at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, where M.I.A. went on a politically charged rant. Videos circulating online show the viral moment, with comments including, “I’ve been canceled for many reasons. I never thought I would be canceled for being a brown Republican voter.” M.I.A. also added, “I can’t do ‘Illegal,’ though some of you could be in the audience.”

Following the backlash, fans expressed disappointment over the set, and Cudi confirmed he had heard the complaints loud and clear. In a statement shared to his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “M.I.A is no longer on this tour. I told my management to send a notice to her team before we started tour that I didnt want anything offensive at my shows, cuz I already knew what time it was, and I was assured things were understood.” He continued, “I’ve been flooded with messages from fans that were upset by her rants. This, to me, is very disappointing and I wont have someone on my tour making offensive remarks that upsets my fanbase.” #MIA has not yet responded to the situation.
