[UPDATE] Atlanta Man Pleads Guilty To Stealing Unreleased Beyoncé Music, Gets 2 Years In Jail
The case centered around #Beyoncé’s stolen music has come to an end.
Kelvin Evans has pleaded guilty to stealing unreleased music from Beyoncé and was sentenced to five years, with two years to be served behind bars and the remainder on probation. The plea, entered in Fulton County court, allowed him to avoid going to trial on charges tied to the high-profile theft. He will receive credit for the time he’s already served since his September arrest, but his exact time in jail remains uncertain. That’s due in part to a prior parole violation, along with several other car break-in cases—more than half a dozen—outlined in court on Tuesday (May 12).
The case stems from a July 2025 incident in #Atlanta, when investigators say Evans broke into a vehicle connected to Beyoncé’s team during her Cowboy Carter tour stop. The SUV, parked in a Krog Street-area garage, belonged to members of her choreography team. Authorities said Evans stole multiple items, including hard drives containing unreleased music, along with other valuables like laptops and equipment. Police later linked Evans to the crime using surveillance footage and arrested him weeks after the break-in.
He had initially pleaded not guilty and even rejected a prior plea deal before ultimately changing course and admitting guilt.
