56-Year-Old Woman D!es After Falling Into Uncovered New York City Manhole

A 56-year-old grandmother has been identified as the woman who d!ed after a tragic fall into an uncovered manhole in Midtown #Manhattan, according to authorities and family members. The victim, Donike Gocaj, of Briarcliff Manor in Westchester County, had just stepped out of her parked Mercedes-Benz SUV near Fifth Avenue and East 52nd Street late Monday night (May 18) when she fell into an open utility hole.
Reports indicate she plunged roughly 10 feet and was found unresponsive inside the manhole by emergency responders. She was rushed to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was later pronounced de@d.
