Here For It? Spotify Launching New Tool That Allows Users To Create ‘Responsible’ AI-Generated Covers & Remixes Of Their Favorite Songs From Participating Artists/Songwriters
#Spotify has struck a new licensing agreement with Universal Music Group that paves the way for a major expansion of AI-generated music tools inside the platform.
Premium subscribers will soon be able to use a new feature that lets them create AI-powered covers and remixes of songs from participating artists and songwriters. According to the announcement, which was made at the company’s investor meeting on Thursday, the upcoming add-on “will open up additional revenue streams and new ways to drive discovery” for artists and songwriters who opt in.
Praising the tool, #UMG Chairman-CEO Lucian Grainge said, “The most valuable innovations in the music business always bring artists and fans closer together. That principle is at the heart of this pioneering AI-enabled superfan initiative, which is designed to support human artistry, deepen fan relationships, and create additional revenue opportunities for artists and songwriters.”
Grainge added, “Building on our long track record of leading the industry through technology changes, and collaborating with the team at Spotify, this initiative is firmly artist-centric, rooted in responsible AI, and will drive growth for the entire ecosystem.”
#TJBCrew, are we here for this or nah?

Interesting move from Spotify. If artists have control and can benefit from the technology, AI remixes could be a really creative way to bring fans closer to their music.

This sounds like a fun way for fans to get creative, especially if artists have full control and are fairly compensated. For fun with 2048 6×6
