Cardi B Addresses Claims From Latto That It Took Months To Reach Out After Calling Her
‘P*ssy’ In Leaked Audio: ‘Making It Right Looks Different For The Both Of Us’
#CardiB wasted no time sharing her side of things.
Taking to X with a lengthy statement, Cardi responded to Latto’s Breakfast Club interview, where the Atlanta rapper revealed that things between the two haven’t been the same since audio leaked of Cardi calling her “p*ssy” for squashing her beef with #IceSpice. Cardi was quick to clarify her words, explaining, “There’s a difference in what I said vs what I meant. What I could have said was you was too forgiving and gave too much mercy in that situation,” before adding, “I let my mouth get the best of me.” She also pointed to the timing, noting she was eight months pregnant, in the middle of an album rollout, and “extremely overwhelmed” at the time.
While Cardi continued to own her part in the fallout, she made it clear her explanation isn’t an excuse — she just wants Latto to understand where her head was at when everything went down. She also pushed back on Latto’s claim that she only reached out once, two months after the leaked audio and her public apology on X. “In 2025 and 2026 I made multiple attempts to connect…I spoke with your manager, your sister, and even texted you directly to take full responsibility,” #Cardi wrote, adding, “I wanted to connect with you but you wanted to address it on your album.”
With Latto saying she’s open to a conversation and Cardi clearly feeling the same way, hopefully these two can get it sorted sooner rather than later.
