Producer Tay Keith Has Reportedly Passed Away
Memphis is mourning one of its most influential modern rap architects as reports of Tay Keith’s death send shockwaves through hip-hop. Metro Nashville Police have confirmed his death, noting he was found dead in his Martin Street apartment. “No foul play is suspected,” police added, saying that his body was discovered as officers performed a welfare check.
The Grammy-nominated producer, born Brytavious Chambers, helped shape the sound behind BlocBoy JB’s Drake-assisted “Look Alive” and Travis Scott and Drake’s chart-topping “SICKO MODE.” BlocBoy JB appeared to react on Instagram, sharing a broken-heart emoji before posting a throwback photo with the caption, “Dam Cuz…You just hurt me bad.” HitKidd also wrote, “I ain’t even got the words, we been doing this since 2010 @taykeith,” with a dove emoji online. A cause of death has not been released yet.
Let’s continue to keep his loved ones in our thoughts in prayers as this story develops.
