Sexyy Red Sues Former Security Guard, Claims $500K In Jewelry & Designer Bags Were Stolen During Mom’s Birthday Retreat
Sexyy Red is taking legal action after claiming a luxury family getaway turned into a costly nightmare.
According to TMZ, the rapper alleges more than $500,000 worth of jewelry, watches, designer handbags and other valuables were stolen during a birthday retreat she hosted for her mother at a rented Florida mansion in January 2025.
In the filing, Sexyy Red claims she hired a security guard and security team to protect the property throughout the celebration. However, she alleges that on January 12, a masked individual entered the home through an unlocked door and made off with numerous luxury items, including necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, charms and designer handbags.
The rapper says a police investigation determined that a door had been left unlocked. She is blaming the security team, led by a man identified as Carl Thompson, alleging he was the last person to leave the property before the burglary occurred. As a result, she is seeking more than $500,000 in damages.
The lawsuit comes amid an ongoing legal dispute between Sexyy Red and Thompson. TMZ reports that Thompson previously sued the rapper in August 2025, claiming he worked as her personal security guard from 2023 through late 2024 and was underpaid for his services. He alleged he was owed additional compensation beyond what he received.
Sexyy Red has denied those allegations and is now firing back with a countersuit, arguing that Thompson and his team bear responsibility for the burglary that allegedly took place during her family’s celebration.
The case remains ongoing.
