Lizzo Speaks Out As New Album Debuts To Shockingly Low Sales, Just 2,650 Copies In First Week
#Lizzo is unsure what to do next.
On her private #TikTok account — which she uses to connect with her most loyal supporters — Lizzo responded to a fan encouraging her not to slow down on promoting her fifth studio album B*tch. Lizzo said she was “clowned” for pushing the project as hard as she did and now isn’t sure what else she can do to boost sales.
According to Rolling Stone, B*tch, which dropped June 5, moved just 2,650 copies in its first week, a steep drop from her previous release. Special, released in 2022, debuted with 39,000 copies sold and peaked at No. 2 on the #Billboard 200 chart. That album also earned Lizzo a Grammy for her hit single “About D*mn Time.”
