Lil Wayne Leaves Maine Fans Heated After Skipping His Own Concert Minutes Before Showtime

Lil Wayne left fans in Maine confused Tuesday night after he failed to take the stage for his scheduled concert at the Bangor Waterfront.

According to the Bangor Daily News and WABI, Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was expected to perform after 2 Chainz during the June 30 show in Bangor, Maine.

The rapper was reportedly scheduled for a 10:45 p.m. set, but around 11 p.m., the crowd was informed that the “A Milli” artist would not be performing and that the event was over.

2 Chainz performed as planned, while a DJ reportedly kept the crowd entertained for several hours before fans were sent home. WABI reported that Waterfront Concerts President Alex Gray apologized and said this was the first time something like this had happened to them. He also said the venue asked the city to extend the curfew.

The missed performance was supposed to launch Wayne’s extended 20 Years of Carter Classics tour dates. In August 2025, he also postponed a Toronto show due to “unforeseen illness.”

“Due to unforeseen illness, Wayne’s Toronto show tonight will be postponed,” the venue said at the time.
