The former MLB player turned record executive had a few things to get off his chest this morning, making it clear he sees himself as “Mr. Multitask.” According to Carl, he’s been on the receiving end of plenty of unsolicited advice, with critics taking issue with his transition from baseball to the music industry. “Don’t say nothing to me n*gg*,” Carl said after speaking about his upbringing and mindset. “These n*gg*s so mad that I f*cking won with Megan Thee Stallion,” he added.
#MeganTheeStallion signed with 1501 Certified Entertainment in 2018, and while things initially appeared to be on track, the business relationship ultimately unraveled. The situation turned contentious, with Megan taking legal action after the label allegedly attempted to block her from releasing new music, along with disputes over contractual obligations. By October 19, 2023, it was officially announced that Meg had parted ways with #1501. Erica Banks has also previously spoken out about the label, alleging she was not properly compensated during her time as an artist.
