Yung Miami Retweets Fans Calling Out Double Standards & ‘Old, Washed Up’ Critics After “Spend Dat” Controversy
Yung Miami isn’t letting the chatter run off with her viral moment without a little X-side commentary.
After Nicci Gilbert and India Arie criticized “Spend Dat,” the City Girls rapper appeared to let fans do the talking by reposting two defenses.
One tweet read, “You gotta be old washed up with no motion to hate spend dat.”
Another read, “ENOUGH. There have been so many more successful songs about m*rder, the disrespect of women, dr*g use/dealing, etc. But Caresha’s song about – *checks notes* – STEALING (from what you can infer to be major corporations at that) and tricking is the problem with our community? Plz.”
The reposts came after Brownstone singer Nicci Gilbert slammed the song, saying, “I hate the song,” while noting, “Caresha is beautiful.”
India.Arie also weighed in, saying “The mass acceptance of this song is a crystal clear sign of this much bigger truth.” Still, she clarified, “Everybody’s gonna make the choices they wanna make.”
Should ppl lay off Caresha or hold her music accountable?
