Amber Rose Fires Back At Critics Questioning Her Cape Verdean Roots: “My Mother Is Cape Verdean
Amber Rose is shutting down critics who have questioned her Cape Verdean heritage.
After spending weeks publicly cheering on Cape Verde during the FIFA World Cup, the model addressed the criticism head-on in a social media video, making it clear she’s tired of people questioning her background.
“To all you motherf***ers that say I’m not Cape Verdean, I’ve been Cape Verdean my whole life,” Amber said. “My mother is Cape Verdean. My family is from Brava and Fogo.”
She went on to explain that while her mother’s side of the family is Cape Verdean, her father’s family traces its roots to Dublin, Ireland, and Sicily, Italy.
Amber also emphasized that she is proudly American, adding:
“I am an American girl. I was born in Philadelphia. You don’t get any more American than that.”
