Angelina Jolie & Brad Pit’s Adult Children Zahara & Maddox Take Out Newspaper Ads To Officially Drop ‘Pitt’ From Last Name
Zahara and Maddox Jolie-Pitt have taken a formal step toward legally shedding their father #BradPitt’s surname, each publishing a legal notice in the Los Angeles Daily Journal as required under California law for a name change. According to court records reviewed by Page Six, 21-year-old Zahara’s notice appeared weekly from June 16 through July 7, while 24-year-old Maddox’s ran on a similar schedule between June 10 and July 1. The public notices give anyone who wants to contest the change a chance to file a written objection before a judge weighs in.
Zahara’s case is now set for a September 28 hearing, where a judge could grant her request to be renamed simply #ZaharaJolie — assuming no objections surface. The move builds on steps she’d already taken informally. As reported, she skipped her father’s name entirely at her May graduation from #SpelmanCollege, walking the stage as Zahara Marley Jolie.
