Octavia Spencer Gives Update On “Ma” Sequel, Says Production Is Working Hard To Finish Script
#OctaviaSpencer is giving fans a promising update on the highly anticipated Ma sequel.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight at a recent event, Spencer revealed that plans for a follow-up to the psychological horror film are still intact, with production “working hard on getting a great script out.” She also spilled a fun detail about her character’s iconic chair, sharing that Sue Ann “Ma” Ellington’s inspiration actually traces back to #KimFields’ legendary role as Dorothy “Tootie” Ramsey from The Facts of Life.
#Ma debuted in 2019 and pulled in $61.2 million at the box office. While it initially received mixed reviews from critics, it’s since built a cult following — helping fuel demand for a sequel.
