Mia Bieniemy, 57, wife of #KansasCityChiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was hospitalized in stable condition after being sh*t by the couple’s 27-year-old son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, Sunday night (July 27) at the family’s home in Ashburn, Virginia, sources confirmed to ESPN.

A Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said deputies responded to a sh**ting call at the residence around 7:32 p.m. ET, and sources said Mia was struck in the chest and arm; local police confirmed a woman was being treated for serious gunsh*t injuries but didn’t release her name. Elijah was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm inside a dwelling, and is being held without bond.

Eric, who rejoined the #Chiefs this year in the same offensive coordinator role he held from 2018 to 2022, was with the team in St. Joseph, Missouri, for training camp Sunday but left camp and missed Monday’s practice. The Chiefs said in a statement only that they are “aware of the incident involving Eric Bieniemy’s family,” without offering further detail.
