Kanye West Admits “Bully” Album Was Made During Mental Health Episode
#KanyeWest is really appreciative of the love his latest album received.
On Tuesday (July 28), Kanye “Ye” West surprised some lucky fans at the Urban One Summit by chatting with them via a phone call conversation with #Gamma CEO Larry Jackson. During the chat, Kanye opened up about how much it meant to have fans back Bully, sharing, “A year into making the project, I went into an episode,” Kanye said. “So, this right here is a celebration and a victory, and a success story of people who have dealt with mental health crises.”
#Bully was released on March 28, debuting at number two on the US Billboard 200. Two months before the project dropped, Kanye published an open apology letter titled “To Those I’ve Hurt,” going over his past controversial remarks and behavior and apologizing to those he has offended. Acknowledging fans who have stuck by him through it all, Kanye added during the Urban One Summit call, “For you guys to be so forgiving and so supportive just means the world to me.”
