Nolan Wells’ Mother Subpoenas TikTok, Snapchat & Instagram In Investigation Into 18-Year-Old’s D3ath After Boat Trip With Friends
The family of Nolan Wells (pictured left) is taking another legal step as they continue searching for answers surrounding the 18-year-old’s d3ath.
According to TMZ, Nolan’s mother, Christine Wells-Wonsley (pictured right), has issued subpoenas to several major social media companies, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Life360, Snapchat, and TikTok, seeking access to information connected to her late son’s accounts.
The subpoenas reportedly request a wide range of records, including current and former usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, display names, IP addresses tied to logins and password resets, metadata, direct messages, chats, posts, Stories, photos, videos, GPS data, friend-list history, and other account information. According to the filing, the family is also seeking identifying information related to anyone who communicated with Nolan through the accounts.
As previously reported, Nolan disappeared during a July 4 boating trip to Horn Island, Mississippi, after friends told investigators he stayed behind on the island with a young woman while the rest of the group returned to the mainland. His body was discovered in the water two days later. While authorities initially indicated they believed Nolan drowned, his family has questioned that conclusion and launched an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his d3ath.
The latest subpoenas come after Wells-Wonsley previously expressed concerns that photos and videos appeared to be missing from Nolan’s phone after it was returned to the family. She has said the missing data raised questions about whether potential evidence had been deleted before investigators completed their review. The investigation remains ongoing.
