[Update] Diddy Won’t Be Released Until February 2028 After Prison Fight Sparks New Delay
Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a longer stay in federal custody after his projected prison release date was reportedly delayed following an altercation behind bars.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records now list February 20, 2028, as the music mogul’s expected release date. The change comes only days after his projected release had reportedly shifted from February 2028 to January 2028.
Diddy’s date has moved several times in recent months. He was initially expected to remain incarcerated until summer 2028 before the timeline reportedly changed to April, then February and later January. Officials have not publicly explained why the projected date repeatedly moved forward or why it has now been pushed back again.
The latest adjustment follows reports that Diddy was involved in a prison fight and subsequently placed in solitary confinement. His January release date had remained listed even after the disciplinary incident, making the newest revision notable. It remains unclear whether the reported altercation directly caused the additional month behind bars or whether other separate administrative factors played a role.
Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison in October 2025 after being convicted on two pr*stitution-related charges.
