Comedian & Actor Na’im Lynn Says Working On A Tyler Perry Show Is ‘Acting Bootcamp’

Comedian Na’im Lynn is revealing a joke he ultimately decided not to tell during Kevin Hart’s Netflix roast.

During an exclusive interview with theJasmineBRAND founder @itsjasminebrand Lynn recalled preparing material for the high-profile roast and revealed that one of his original jokes involved comedian Jeff Ross and the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

Lynn said he tested the joke in comedy clubs ahead of the roast, but it repeatedly got “crickets.” He explained that some audience members either didn’t know who Ross was or didn’t know that Ross is Jewish, making it difficult for the joke to land without additional context.

The punchline Lynn considered delivering was:

I could ruin your whole night with two words: Free Palestine.”

Ultimately, Lynn decided to leave the joke out of his set. Looking back, however, he believes the controversial punchline could have created a major moment had he delivered it on the Netflix stage, saying it potentially could’ve gone “crazy around the world.” The full interview with Na’im Lynn coming soon .

What do you think — was leaving the joke out the right call?
