Tupac M*rder Suspect Keefe D Says His Family Is Being Endangered As His Home Is Allegedly Vandalized: ‘They Keep Giving Out My Address’
Things got tense inside the courtroom during the murder trial of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the man accused of orchestrating the 1996 k#lling of rap legend Tupac Shakur. Davis raised concerns about his family’s safety, claiming his home address has repeatedly been revealed and that people have since targeted his property.
“They keep giving out my address,” Davis told Judge Carli Kierny, according to courtroom reports. Davis said people have broken into and vandalized his home and also damaged his wife’s vehicle. “This stuff is wrong,” he told the judge. Kierny reportedly responded that she had heard the issue was “going both ways” and said she had admonished prosecutors to speak with their witnesses.
The exchange became even more heated when a prosecutor pushed back on Davis’ complaint, saying, “For the record, I think he’s indicating he’s upset I’m prosecuting him for murder.” Davis quickly denied that, responding, “No, I’m not upset you’re endangering my family.” He also told the court, “I’m not upset I’m being prosecuted,” while maintaining that his family’s safety was being put at risk.
Davis, 63, has pleaded not guilty to murder in connection with Shakur’s fatal 1996 drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. Prosecutors allege Davis helped orchestrate the attack as retaliation after Shakur and members of his entourage assaulted Davis’ nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, at the MGM Grand. Davis is not accused of firing the fatal shots himself, while his defense maintains there is insufficient evidence tying him to the killing. The closely watched trial is expected to continue for several weeks.
