Daejon Love, Man Accused Of Posing As 49ers Player & Scamming Women, Allegedly Told Popular D.C.-Area Braid Shop He Played For Team & Needed ‘Security’
Daejon Love, the man accused of posing as a San Francisco 49ers player while allegedly scamming women out of more than $1 million, appears to have taken his alleged NFL persona to a Maryland hair-braiding shop as well.
In screenshots shared with theJasmineBrand, an Instagram account bearing Love’s name and image messaged Nadine’s Hair Braiding, a 24-hour braid shop in the DMV area, about getting permanent locs installed. “I’m sure you know me,” the message reads, before saying he would be in the DMV on business. He added, “I know I don’t have much hair to work with but I heard y’all can make anything happen. Don’t even matter the price to me.” The account then claimed, “I play for the 49ers btw so I’ll need security while I’m there.”
A separate image shared with theJasmineBrand appears to show Love later posing outside Nadine’s Hair Braiding alongside two women while wearing San Francisco 49ers gear and holding a 49ers helmet. It’s unclear when the alleged exchange and visit took place or whether the shop knew he was not actually a member of the NFL team.
As previously reported by theJasmineBrand, federal authorities accuse Love, 35, of portraying himself as a 49ers player or wealthy investor while carrying out an alleged romance and investment scheme that took roughly $1.3 million from at least 26 women. Love and alleged accomplice Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, were arrested at Boise Airport on Aug. 24 and face federal charges of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Prosecutors have also described Love as a “serious flight risk.” Love and Chan remain accused and have not been convicted.
