Tyler Perry Reveals Why He’ll Never Get Married, Says He’s ‘Good Just Being Free’

Jumping the broom isn’t on #TylerPerry’s to-do list.

The media titan recently sat down with #JenniferHudson on her self-titled talk show and didn’t mince words when asked whether marriage is in his future. “No,” he said without hesitation when Jennifer questioned if he wanted to get married. Tyler explained that it’s not marriage itself that bothers him — it’s divorce.
He went on to say that everyone he knows who was doing well financially but eventually went broke later in life did so because of a divorce battle. “So, I’m good just being free,” he said as the audience laughed. Tyler shares one son with his ex, Gelila Bekele. He hasn’t been in a public relationship since the two split in 2020.
