Chadwick Boseman’s Widow Says She Gave His Family Thousands Of Dollars-Calls Brothers’ Estate Lawsuit A ‘Public-Relations Stunt’

Chadwick Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, is pushing back against an effort by the late actor’s brothers to remove her from overseeing his estate, accusing them of using the legal battle to damage her reputation publicly.

Ledward filed a legal response after Derrick and Kevin Boseman asked a court to remove her as administrator of Chadwick’s estate and replace her with attorney Jason Rubin. According to TMZ, Ledward characterized the lawsuit as a “public-relations stunt” intended to smear her in the media.

She maintains there is no legitimate reason to remove her, arguing that she has properly handled the estate while continuing to provide financial support to Boseman’s family following his 2020 d*ath.

Ledward reportedly pointed to several distributions made to Chadwick’s parents, Carolyn and Leroy Boseman, over the years. She also claims she personally gave approximately $300,000 of her own money to Derrick’s children, who are Chadwick’s nephews, because she believed her late husband wanted his relatives financially supported.

Ledward is asking the court to allow her to remain administrator.

However, she is also challenging the brothers’ proposed replacement. If the court does remove her, Ledward argues Rubin should not automatically take over, citing what she described as “serious allegations” involving him in unrelated cases.

Ledward acknowledged she does not know whether those allegations are true, but believes they should be reviewed before Rubin is placed in charge of Chadwick’s estate.

For now, Ledward insists she has fulfilled her responsibilities and is prepared to defend her handling of the estate in court.
