Chris Rock Says Infidelity & Struggling To ‘Make It’ Aren’t Just Hollywood Problems: ‘If You Got No Love, You’re Broke As F**k’

Chris Rock is getting candid about infidelity, success and what it really means to “make it” while discussing his new film, Misty Green, at the New York Film Festival.

While speaking about the infidelity explored in the movie, Rock rejected the idea that cheating is uniquely tied to Hollywood. “I don’t think it’s a Hollywood thing, it’s just life,” he tells Variety. Discussing the relationships between the film’s characters, he added, “Our two characters bond over our infidelities. And, yeah, it’s a lot. But it’s show business, man. Rock ’n’ roll!”

Rock also opened up about his personal definition of success, explaining that he no longer measures “making it” strictly by career accomplishments. “Making it is, to me, where I’m at right now: my daughter having great kids. Having love in your life,” he said, adding, “If you got no love, you’re broke as f—k. That’s making it.”
