Celebrity Hairstylist Derek J Weighs In On The Hair Price Debate: ‘If I Charge $1,500, You’re Expecting An Experience’
Celebrity hairstylist Derek J is weighing in on the never-ending debate over how much is *too much* for a hair appointment.
In a new Instagram video, Derek explained that pricing can depend on everything from a stylist’s experience and clientele to the amount of time and level of service they provide.
“If I charge $1,500, you’re expecting an experience,” he said.
In the caption, Derek acknowledged that some people believe his prices are too high, while others think he could charge even more. He stressed that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to salon pricing and encouraged hairstylists to make sure they are charging enough to actually sustain their careers.
Now Derek is turning the conversation over to the people: Have hairstylists gotten too expensive, or have they been undercharging for too long?
