Former NBA Star Paul Pierce Claims He’s “Drowning Financially” Despite Earning Nearly $200 Million During NBA Career, Says He Has $48K In Monthly Bills
Former NBA star Paul Pierce claims he’s facing serious financial challenges after losing a major source of income, despite earning nearly $200 million throughout his professional basketball career.
According to TMZ, the former Boston Celtics player revealed in court documents that his average monthly income of approximately $119,000 has reportedly dropped to zero following the end of his Fox Sports payments in August.
However, Pierce reported earning approximately $23,000 last month from business partnerships.
The NBA champion claims he’s “tapped out” financially and struggling to keep up with his financial obligations.
According to the report, Pierce says he currently pays approximately $28,000 in monthly child support and $20,000 in spousal support.
He also reportedly listed approximately $48,000 in additional monthly expenses, including:
• $8,000 for childcare
• $7,000 for dining out
• $5,000 for groceries
• $3,500 for entertainment
• $3,200 for utilities
• $1,000 for clothing
Despite his financial concerns, Pierce reportedly disclosed having approximately $300,000 in the bank and $3 million in property.
The financial disclosures come amid an ongoing legal dispute with his ex, Princess Santiago, who is requesting an additional $40,000 in attorney fees and $10,000 for a forensic accountant.
Pierce is opposing those requests, with his attorney reportedly arguing that the former athlete is “drowning financially” and struggling to meet his existing obligations.
Santiago has also accused Pierce of failing to provide complete financial records, allegations that remain disputed.
