Was Justin Bieber’s Miami Arrest A Set Up By Police? Singer Compares Himself to Michael Jackson
Thursday, news broke that singer Justin Bieber was arrested in the wee hours of the morning on Miami Beach. Initial reports shared that he had just left a Miami club, and was spotted was driving a yellow Lamborghini in a residential neighborhood. Reportedly, he was drag racing (which is illegal) and the vehicle was stopped. At that point, he was was given a field sobriety test at the scene and reportedly failed. He was then arrested and was taken to jail where he was processed bail set.
Justin was released from jail Thursday afternoon, after his bail was set at $2,500. He was escorted by correctional officers and waved to fans during his exit. He was charged with DUI, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest. Officers say he had an expired license, was initially not cooperative when he was pulled over and smelled of alcohol. Police also say he later admitted that he had been drinking, smoking marijuana and taking prescription medication. So what’s new with this story? According to TMZ, the police report of what initially caused them to pull Justin over is inaccurate. He was pulled over for allegedly drag racing, but it appears that he was under the speed limit.
The police report says an officer observed the 2 vehicles reaching speeds between 55 and 60 MPH. Justin’s sports car was a rental. The rental actually had a GPS device, which clocked Justin at 27 miles per hour (MPH). It doesn’t appear that they reached between 55 and 60 MPH. There also seems to be another discrapency in the police reports. Police suggested that the singer reeked of alcohol when he was pulled over, but reportedly, Justin’s blood alcohol level was .014 — a barely measurable amount. There has been no additional reports about him allegedly being under the influence of prescription pills. Justin hasn’t released an official statement, but tweeted the following message
He also shared a side-by-side photo of the late Michael Jackson, with the caption
