No Longer Interested in Being a College Drop-Out, Is Yeezy Returning to College?
Rumor has it that 33 year-old, Kanye West, may be returning to college….specifically, London’s Central Saint Martins, a college known for their art and design that produced the late, Alexander McQueen. Yeezy completed one year of art school at Chicago State University and in a 2004 interview with Ebony magazine shared, “I dropped out of school because I wasn’t learning fast enough…. I learned from real life better.” Instead, he decided to pursue his music career full time, so he moved to New York in 2001.
Last week, Yeezy met with the course director and interviewed for the MA Fashion Degree Program. The Sun shared that “Kanye spends a lot of time with fashion students and often hooks up with Central’s arty pupils when he is in London… Now that he has been interviewed the school’s board will have to decide whether to allow him to start the MA fashion course later this year.” Since Yeezy considers himself a fashion maven–he loves fur and his leather pant game is insane–this seems like a perfect fit (literally) for him. No shade but does MA Fashion Degree stand for Master of Arts in Fashion or does it mean something else in London? Or maybe MA stands for a type of design like mechanical arts or something? Just tryna figure out how Yeezy would get into a grad program w/ only 1 year of undergrad O_o
