EssenceFest Slammed After Cutting Missy Elliott’s Set Short [VIDEO]

A few fans left EssenceFest a bit perturbed, after an incident involving Missy Elliott. According to reports, the 44-year-old artist took to the Super Dome stage last night (July 4th), putting on an explosive set.

And while fans seemed to be enjoying all things Missy, in the middle of her set, Essence pulled the plug literally while she was on stage. A source tells us that her mics were cut, right in the middle of her trying to bring on singer Monica. In fact, the stage went completely black and ads began to run, right after Missy brought out Jazmine Sullivan. A source notes:

People were so pissed that they got up and began walking out.
