Dear Oprah, “I-Got-Next.” Love, Queen Latifah

Move over Oprah, Queen Latifah’s up next–Sorta. With the final season/show of Oprah Winfrey nearing a close, there’s an open slot in day-time television. We know that there will never be another Oprah. And hell, there shouldn’t be, but we are certainly excited about who’s the next talk show to hit prime time TV. Obviously, the person has to be bright, compelling, diverse, humble and connect with an audience w/ a genuine (not-tryin’-too-hard) manner. Rumor has it that 41-year-old actress/artist Queen Latifah just may fit the bill. We hear that she recently purchased a sound stage in Florida where it will be used to record music, produce new webisodes for Black Voices, TV, etc. According to RumorFix, she’s also about to land a clothing line deal with a shopping network. All of which will be done out of Miami. So, although it’s not the traditional route that Oprah became successful in, it looks as if Latifah is building her own unique lane and empire. Does Queen Latifah have what it takes?
