SWV’s Lelee Trashes ‘Hip Hop Honors’
SWV’s Leanne “Lelee” Lyons feels slighted that the legendary group wasn’t invited to VH1’s Hip Hop Honors. On Monday, the special aired, with a few famous faces in attendance including Master P, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey and Martin Lawrence, whose careers were at the top during that particular time period.
While many were pleased with the show, Leelee felt SWV should have received an invite. Reacting to the show, she stated:
So VH1 is doing a show on game changers of the 90’s, but not invite most of the artists that changed the game? Where they do that at?
She continued,
I’m so sick of the d*ck riding, popularity contests that plagues this new industry. #SWV #payoladidntgetushere #musicdid #NumbersDontLie
