After Bidding War, Wale Signs to Warner Brother Records
Three months after leaving Atlantic Records, Wale, is finally coming into his own. The Washington, DC based rapper recently released a solid four track EP called “Self Promotion.” After 12 years on the national music scene, many thought the “Lotus Flower Bomb” rapper was going to stay independent. However, Wale has proudly announced the signing of a new record deal with Warner Brother Records, the parent home of his former label, Atlantic. Wale states,
The Wale sweepstakes started the second I said farewell to my last situation. After several upon several offers, I decided to go to Warner Bros. Records. I had to be needed, not wanted. I had to have a partner; no longer could I have a boss.
Speaking of a boss; Wale confirms that Rick Ross and MMG will still be involved in his career. This is just the type of partnership the veteran MC needs.
I’m finally an executive. A real exec. Watch it all unfold. Once I get myself settled in I’m changing the industry the way I see fit and working vigorously to create, sign and promote DOPE SHIT. I’m richhhhh, biyaaaaatch.
Congratulations. Hard work has paid off. The major backing of Warner Bros. will give Wale’s label – Every Blue Moon, the boost it needs. Stay tuned.
