“The Chi” Actor Jason Mitchell Doesn’t Believe In Marriage Or Monogamy – I’ve Only See It Tear People Down

Jason Mitchell is making headlines over his unconventional statement about on marriage and monogamy. The 31-year-old “The Chi” star admitted that he’s really not a fan of monogamy or walking down the aisle. He tells The Breakfast Club,

I look at like this. Like monogamy is such a taboo situation. And its a such uhhhh yeah monogamy.

When asked to clarify his statement, he responded

Yeah monogamy is overrated.

And when asked if he didn’t believe in marriage, he simply answered,

No!

Jason then went on to say,

I’ve seen marriage tear a lot of people down. I’ve seen marriage do more damage in my life. I’ve never seen a marriage last ever. I’ve never seen a marriage be faithful, I’ve never seen a marriage be fruitful, I’ve never seen a marriage do any of that.

After a clip from the interview surfaced on social media, followers did not hold back on sharing their thoughts. He received some very interesting comments and feedback from followers and fans in regards to him not being an advocate for marriage and monogamy. One follower left a comment saying,

Honestly you got to just feel bad for people like this. They have never seen a happy home so they don’t believe it exists and therefore have shut themselves off from the experience.

Another follower left a comment saying,

Wow. I feel sad for him. I’ve been blessed to see couples happily married for 30+ years. My daughter was blessed to witness this as well. I agree marriage isn’t for everyone, but it saddens me that so many people don’t believe it’s possible.

While one follower seemed to support his on marriage writing,

He has a point, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong w him for personally not wanting anything to do w monogamy or marriage. As long as he’s upfront and honest about his views w whoever he dates and they’re cool with it that’s great. Nonetheless he seems very level headed and respectful; having different views on relationships than most doesn’t make him a bad person or raised wrong.

Jason is best known for playing his role as late rapper and Ruthless Records CEO, Eric “Eazy-E” Wright in 2015’s “Straight Outta Compton” which was a box office smash. The movie was based on the revolutionary rap group N.W.A. His most current film is a remake of the 1972 blaxploitation classic “SuperFly”, which he plays Eddie, right-hand man to Youngblood Priest. Trevor Jackson who is known for his role TV’s Grown-ish — co-stars as Priest, aka Superfly. He also stars on Showtime’s “The Chi”.
